Portfolio Submission Expectations

Florida homeschool families are required to complete an annual evaluation to document academic progress and maintain compliance with state law. The simplest way to meet this requirement is through a portfolio review conducted by a Florida‑certified teacher.

Your homeschool portfolio should include a representative sample of your child’s work—such as reading logs, writing samples, projects, worksheets, or progress notes—that demonstrate learning growth throughout the year. You will find a complete list of representative work samples to the right. During the evaluation, the teacher reviews your portfolio, discusses your child’s progress, and provides a signed verification letter confirming that your child has made educational progress commensurate with ability.

At Sunshine Scholars Connection, we make the process clear, supportive, and stress‑free. Families can submit portfolios virtually, in person, or asynchronously, and receive a professional evaluation summary suitable for district submission. This ensures your homeschool remains fully compliant with Florida Statute 1002.41, while giving you confidence that your documentation reflects your child’s learning journey.
